A Brief Overview of The Synnd System Itself...

The Discovery Leading to the Development of Synnd...

  • Thanks to Charles, the Social Media Science team, Russell Wright and the Themezoom team, their diligent hard work and and ground breaking research, we have a truly honest resource, focused, structured and precise methodologies and a clear pathway to creating a solid foundation in the new online social networking landscape and a blueprint for success and lucrative business online. • Am I glad I came across this membership several months ago! I like the feel of the new site, Charles ... (there wasn't anything wrong with the old one btw!) This knowledge has to put us years ahead of the masses and I'll be hanging right in there with you.

    Russell Shearer

  • The good thing about a community like Social Media Science is that we meet interesting people and learn about interesting new developments in related fields of business that one would never have learned about otherwise.

    Andreas Guibeb

  • Charles, to you and your team WOW! Words cannot convey my gratitude for how this membership is helping me "lay the foundation" for the building of "Mindshare." You are offering us such clear and well focused "step-by-step" instruction that I have set all else aside until I am able to enter my markets with the brilliance of this strategy. I look forward to sharing with you the successes which come from implementing your wisdom here.

Testimonials and Conversations Copied From our Forums...

  • Charles, I just wanted to say thank you for your brilliance, your team, and everyone involved in making the SYNND Network such a success. I write you today to share a success story. In the short time - almost three months - that I have been part of this community I have seen a great deal of progress with the traffic to my site.

The education that I have been receiving from the over abundance of modules has pushed me in creating some pretty powerful marketing funnels. The incredible part about all this is that today I confirmed a contract with a new client that will bring in net profits of $5,124.00 this year alone. Not to mention the added business that will come from it in the future.

The work that you and your team do everyday to grow, improve and maintain this community is priceless. Thank you again. Please feel free to use this testimonial anywhere that you would like. - Ashley Bolivar
  • Guys

just to say thanks and to let you know that within 24 hrs and 25 buzz points my article "black marks around the edge of carpets is number one in google UK. Thanks.

my campaigns are going really well. i am identifying some holes in my niche and this helps with hits and response. this has had a direct effect on my bottom line. before synd 2 things where really bad, now we are up to about 50% of what i can do in a week. and that's profitable. Respect

    Ian Harper

  • That's awesome Ian. I checked my Yahoo stats and now have 900 incoming links to my new blog, only 1 month old. Haven't hit a big surge of traffic, or taken off on digg yet, but my new posts are indexed within a matter of minutes. Can't wait until the free version is ready, and hoping stumbleupon will be included soon.

  • The results below are the consequence of three components which Charles evangelizes:

    1. The Power Quality Content (Richard's Guidelines for preparing content are 100% effective)
    2. Pay Attention to basic On Page SEO and internal linking of your site content
    3. The Power of the Synnd Community - the best investment you can ever make

These are the results based on Google France

    << Top ranked sites >> # of competing pages 106 000 000 SERP Position Page 1

  • This is very cool ... my "160 "Lose Weight" Online Resources" couldn't be found a few days ago - and now it's on page 1 of Google for the keyword phrase: "lose weight online':

    http://www.google.com/search?q=lose+wei...=firefox-a

    Thanks for your help, everybody!
    Sydney 43

  • FYI... If I look on Google France (my default Google) with my preferences set to French language, it appears on page 1 - above the fold - out of 26,400,000. If I look with my preferences set to English, it appears on page 2 above the fold - out of 8,980,000 cool

And, in both cases, there are loads of Adword Ads.

  • I started a SocialMedian campain on this blog post, Cut Cost to Help Cash Flow (no quotes), Sunday about 5pm Eastern. That's about 15 hours ago. Here's the results so far:

    - The actual blog post was ranked originally at Google #32 for the phrase cut cost to help cash flow and now it is at position #7!

    - The Social Median entry is at Google #1 for the same phrase.

I'd say that's pretty good. Obviously that phrase is more of a long tail phrase with only 419,000 competition. My goal however is to use this page to rank higher for the very general phrase "cash flow". I was nowhere to be seen on Google for that general phrase, so we'll see what happens over the next several days. I just added Dig and Delicious as campaigns to help it out.

    Thanks all for your contribution!

    (capital solutions)

  • Last night I added a Digg and a Delicious campaign.

As of now, my Social Median listing is still #1. The new Digg listing is #4. And my original blog listing sits right now at #12.

Using a more broad keyword, yesterday I was nowhere to be found. Now searching for "help cash flow" (no quotes), my SocialMedian is at #12 and if I search for "help cashflow", then SM is $6 and Digg is #30.

Very impressive I must say. Although the blog listing is lower, I am sure the juice from SocialMedian and Digg will pump it up in time.

FYI: Yahoo doesn't list me anywhere near the top, but Live put my original blog post at #1 position.

    Rob aka ASearvern

  • To motivate you to continue the fun, here is Day 5 Update:

Our blog post "Cut Costs to Help Cash Flow" is found on

    - Google: #1, #4 and the actual blog post is #11
    - Yahoo: #11, #6 for a similar post on our site, #21 for the main blog page
    - Live: #1

As of yesterday, the shorter phrase "help cash flow" is #5 on Google!

  • Hey guys, I agree with all your comments. I haven't tracked my stuff to the extent that you have, but I'm making inroads and I like the way its going. For me it's a matter of slow and steady wins the race. Like Phil, I take the time to read what people have on offer, I also belong to a couple of separate 'blog groups' whereby we do similiar work - comment on articles, follow, google friend, and socialise each others work by bookmarking in Social Median, Digg, Delicious etc. I've found by belonging to a group - way outside of my sphere, there is only one other that is similiar to mine, the work that goes on there is already paying off, beacause their readers are now starting to read me...perfect, just what we all are looking for.

Phillip, I agree this site is great, we are all focussed on the promotion of not only ourselves but others - that is what will pay dividends. The other two groups I belong too are 'freer', less organised, but it will/does work with perserverance and commitment.

    Cheers
    Julie

  • Thought I'd share some statistics on a keyword that I was going after.

I submitted the article in both Social Median and Digg. Social Median was clipped 22 times, and Digg was clipped 24 times ( so just about equal).

I'm on 1st page Google for the term as a result. The Social Median page and the Digg page also come up in search results. The Social Median page comes up on page 2, and the Digg page comes up on page 4.

Now... it's hard to make judgements with little data, but in this scenario, Social Median had fewer clicks and came up higher in the search engines.

    Visitor traffic seems about equal.

  • This just goes to prove the awesome power of content ... my partner was just checking our stats on the woopra.com testing site and discovered that 76.8% of our visitors stayed over 20 MINUTES! That's really, really powerful.

  • At anything I do, I always expect to eventually be successful. The keyword is "eventually."

Short-term, I expect to fail every time. I'm rarely disappointed. Today, however, is a different story.

As you may know, I've worked out a system using latent semantic indexing when submitting articles to article directories to get lots of #1 listings on (free) Google. But it's not like getting a blog post #1. And that's a whole different ballgame, because Google needs to see you as an authority website. That's part of the algorithm. And my Net Traffic Machine blog has only been around about 3 months now.

So last week I posted the article Blog Traffic Techniques with a challenge to myself to see if I could use LSI & Synnd to get that keyword title on the first page of Google results. My thinking actually was that when it didn't work, I'd have to play detective to figure out the parts of the puzzle I'm missing.

For 6 days, I googled "blog traffic techniques" every day. The Digg page for that article was there. The Social Median reference was there. Heck, there was even a Twitter about that post. But I checked through the first 10 pages of Google results, and my article was nowhere to be found.

So I forgot about it. Until today.

A couple hours ago, I was preparing to write a blog post about this failure. So I checked Google once again to see what position the Digg & Social Median & Twitter references were in. And guess what? Digg was gone. In its place, at #1 in the search against 581,000 other results ... my actual blog article.

I am astonished. I know a couple things about Google, but not much, really. The biggest thing I did right was to connect with Charles and to use Synnd. I really appreciate all you guys using Synnd. You made this possible. I see a very bright future for all of us, using this system.

And thanks, Charles. YOU are #1 with me.

    Richard Dennis

  • That's really good, Rita.

Checking my Google Analytics this morning ... in the last month, I've had

    179 visitors from Social Median
    74 visitors from Digg
    4 visitors from Delicious

Now ... the point of Synnd is not social networking visitors. The point is to generate buzz and incoming links so your content can move up in the Google ranking. Obviously, that's working.

But ... since I can't find any Delicious listing in the Google search for "blog traffic techniques", and since Delicious only has generated 4 visitors, I think I'll just skip it. I'll need a pretty good reason to use it again. You might check your stats to see how the 3 networks are performing for you ... I'd certainly be interested.

    Richard Dennis

  • I just searched "blog traffic techniques" again.

Google result #1 is my blog post. Google result #2 is another post on my blog. Google result #3 is the "blog traffic techniques" Social median page. Google result #4 is the "blog traffic techniques" Digg page.

What was that about owning real estate on Google search? This thing seems to be a good idea, Charles.

    Richard Dennis

  • Charles

I thought I'd just report back on the results I'm seeing with my Synndications, my traffic is up 24.6% this month over last and whilst it's difficult to be certain this is all down to Synnd, the two articles I've promoted with Synnd are both showing significant increases in traffic. One that was definitely on my site for the whole of the previous month is up 5.38 times, so something is working.

    Duncan Macyntire

  • I am also thrilled to report that for two keyword phrases I am on page one at google for the first one and on page two of google for the second with this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j54-JMvhpqY

I think it's because of Synnd using Digg. (I'll study my stats to be sure)

Page Two Number 6! Ann Sieg's (much more competitive)

  • I'm having very good results using Synnd for the SEO work that I'm doing.

I had actually been looking for a community of people who would work together like this for quite
some time, but could only find one. That program didn't have a tracking system in place, so people
simply joined hoping other people would bookmark their stuff. They would never bookmark anything
themselves. Thus, the value of that program was minimal as no one was bookmarking.

With Synnd, the tracking system keeps people incentivized to bookmark, which ultimately makes this so valuable!

I'd love to rack up more points so that I can submit more articles. I think we as a community
need to start promoting the Synnd system to get more users on it

Charles... do you by any chance have an affiliate program?

  • The other day traffic to one of our sites jumped by about 800 visits. After looking at the stats it was due to only one article. This article has been seeded to Synnd on the socialmedian network and has achieved "semi-popularity". By that I mean that it was popular for the day but not at the top of the weekly popular or monthly popular lists.

It is also worthwhile to note that the article has also been added to digg, reddit, delicious, yahoo buzz manually by us outside of synnd. On these networks there isn't more than 2 votes on each, they didn't take off at all (as expected as I don't have a power user account with those networks)

Here is the breakdown of traffic sources to this one "super article" on this one day (as reported from google analytics):

    1 news.ycombinator.com 385
    2. (direct) 222
    3. reddit.com 185
    4. google.com 106
    5. socialmedian.com 77
    6. twitter.com 60

    Notes:

    - It is interesting to note number 1. Ycombinator is also known as hackernews. It must have got picked up on its own as we didn't submit it and this is providing the most traffic. I tried to find the article there but could not as the service is quite basic. Charles, this is one you might want to put on the list of networks to add, maybe synnd can dominate it. Obviously it is niche and only tech, internet, social media stuff would do well here.

    - direct. not sure why so many direct hits

    - reddit. tremendous value. the article only got 2 votes (including mine) but brought home a majority of the traffic.

    - google. i am assuming that this is search traffic

    - socialmedian. the network that was used to synnd. surprisingly low on it's own accord but obviously got the content out there to other places

    - twitter. we didn't seed or submit anywhere to twitter so this is somewhat of a surprise.

    - after this there were a bunch of small sources that I don't have the time to analyse.

    Hope this helps.

Charles. Some suggestions for new networks to add to synnd.

Yahoo Buzz! - this one looks like we could do well. Also, the popular news makes it to yahoo home page which can get millions of hits.
reddit - if a non popular item can get traffic as above, a popular item will do very well. lots of topics.
hacker news - niche for tech, internet and social media

  • They say the longest journey starts with the first step. So has Synnd. Like when you start learning to ride a bike we will fall-off several times as we try to focus simultanously at several things (balance, move forward, avoid obstacles, be aware of mom etc). The point is to be patient and get back up each time and especially establish a regular practice routine till we master the art of doing and coordinating all those things automatically (unconsciously) without paying attention.

Though it it is still early days - what I would like us to focus on here is to keep score of the progress, the milestones as we journey along our Synnd Experience. To use the bike example - we first manage to stay up for one minute, then two and then 10 till we are able to go around the blog and back.

Here my results based on the syndication on Delicous alone. The buzz or backlinks generated by the Synnd Tribe through the syndication of two articles on the blog has been remarkable.

The aim of site is not to pitch any competing coaching service but merely to raise awareness about issues regarding the profession and thereby gain visibility for the site amongst the wellness coaching community for social and business networking purposes. We did not go at this initial stage for the ultra competitive "wellness" (1,310,000,000 competing pages) and "wellness coach" (243,000,000 competing pages) keyword but for less competitive low hanging long tail 3 word phrase keywords. Here are the results after the first week of Synnd promotion.

    keyword phrase: local wellness coach
    competing pages: 332 000
position in Google after 1st week of Synnd Promotion: Page1 Position #2 - the listed page indircectly benefited from Synnd Campaign
    # of Inbound Links of direct competitors: Competitor #1 has only 5 inbound links but has keyword phrase in domain name
Having targeted keyword phrase in domain name is thus important. The competitor
site is however an affiliate site for HerbaLife under the affiliates own domain name.
Conclusion Round #1 goes to to Synnd

    keyword phrase: local wellness coaching
    competing pages: 339 000
position in Google after 1st week of Synnd Promotion: Page1 Position #2 - Page not related to Synnd Campaign but probably benefitted
    # of Inbound Links of direct competitors: Competitor #1 has only 184 inbound links - Domain includes wellness coaching
Having targeted keyword phrase in domain name is thus important. The competitor
Conclusion Indirect benefit from Synnd campaign contributed to Google Page1 position

    keyword phrase: local wellness coaches
    competing pages: 5 590 000
position in Google after 1st week of Synnd Promotion: Page1 Position #2 due to "Fit Over 40" Synnd Campaign
    # of Inbound Links of direct competitors: Competitor #1 has only 77 inbound links but has keyword phrase wellnesscoaches in
domain name whereas we have "local wellness" in our domain name
Having targeted keyword phrase in domain name is thus important. The competitor
site target however only the narrow niche of onsite workplace wellness training.
Conclusion Synnd does well even in a competive market

I do not know the significance of placing keyword phrase between or without the tilde (~?~) but I pshow them below as they yield significant differences.

Keyword Phrase: ~local wellness coach~ search phrase placed between ("tilde" ~~) sign
    Competing Pages: 335 000
Position in Google after 1st week of Synnd Promotion: Page1 Position #3. Page not related to Synnd Campaign but probably benefited.
    # of Inbound Links of direct competitors: Competitor #2 has only 183 inbound links - should be able to overtake that soon
Competitor #1 has only 5 inbound links but has keyword phrase in domain name
Having targeted keyword phrase in domain name is thus important. The competitor
site is however an affiliate site for HerbaLife under the affiliates own domain name.
Conclusion Synnd link juice seems to have had an impact on ranking for keyword

Keyword Phrase: ~local wellness coaches~ search phrase placed between ("tilde" ~~) sign
    Competing Pages: 1 020 000
Position in Google after 1st week of Synnd Promotion: Page1 Position #5. Page related to Synnd "Fit over 40" Delicious Campaign.
Page2 Position#2 Page unrelated Synnd Campaign but probably benefitted
Page2 Position #5 Page related to Synnd "Local Wellness Policies" Delicious Campaign
    # of Inbound Links of direct competitors: Competitor #1 has only 2,332 inbound links + keyword phrase in domain name
Having targeted keyword phrase in domain name is thus important. The competitor
site is however an affiliate site for HerbaLife under the affiliates own domain name.
Competitor #2 has only 362 inbound links - should be able to match that with a
sustained Synnd campaign coupled with directory submissions.
Competitor #3 has 28,136 backlinks with core focus on "getting rich". Is not
competitive competitive vis-a-vis #1 & #2 competitors inspite of more backlinks due
to greater relevance of the overall content of those sites with regard to targeted
    keyword phrase.
Competitor #4 a coaching certification institution has only 608 backlinks.
Conclusion Synnd delivers ample proof at this early stage that it is a powerful competitive link
building (ranking) and market visibility tool.

I would be happy to hear the experiences of others so far.

  • Richard,

    Thanks for the info.

I was working on my website and wanted to see what your information could do to help me gain traffic in an already established site. So...

When I went to Google Keyword Tool and checked my homepage to see what "Google saw".

I was shocked to find out even though I "thought" my main page was optimized for a certain keyword phrase it was WAY off.

So I ran the query you said, got the words, added more to the list and then rewrote and reorganized my home page.

And I checked Google a few times during the reorganization to make sure I was on the right track.

When finished, I let Google know my website was updated.

    Funny thing happened.

The next day, I looked at my stats and saw I was getting visitors that were using two other different versions of my "optimized" keyword phrase.

Example: I was optimizing for create a website tutorial

My traffic is increasing and staying longer.
I just checked again after almost a week of "rewording and reorganization":

    create a website tutorial - on page 1 - #4 of about 1,900,000

    build a website tutorial - on page 1 - #3 of about 310,000

    make a website tutorial - on page 1 - #4 of about 76,700,000 (I am PR1 and beat out a PR8 smile )

I believe that as time goes by I should be able to get into the top results for create a website.

I am working on each page within my site and first checking to see what "Google sees". If it is not what I wanted, then I run the phrase I want and rework the page/article from there.

I will use your technique when I write articles also but thought I would share this information using articles and web pages already written.

  • I put up my latest blog post, "Blog Promotion Plan", for syndication yesterday afternoon. I googled the title 2 or 3 hours after you guys started digging and clipping it.

It seems ridiculous to get this in a couple hours, but my blog post was #1, the social median page was #2, and the Digg page was on the Google first page, too ... against over 7 million other results.

    I sure like Synnd.

  • Charles,

It gets better. This one blog post is now ranked for over 20 different "realistic" Google search terms ... including first page Google results for 12 search terms. By "realistic", I mean a phrase that searchers would actually key into the Google search box.

That could amount to a lot of free advertising, especially if you can get that result every time you write a blog post.

I'm writing another blog post on how this happened ... because it was definitely planned. Not only that, it's something anybody can do. I'll post the article to Synnd as soon as it's ready.

    Richard Dennis

  • Since it looks like this is the main forum for Synnd, I thought I would move this information here from the Synnd forum. I get a lot of help when people post their case studies, problems and solutions, so I thought I would do the same here.

My goal is to use SN buzz (using Synnd) to get my News and Blog posts ranked which in turn will help the website get higher rankings in the SERPs. Our clients are not the kind that do much SNing so I don't expect prospects to come to us via that method.

The goal of everything I've posted so far is cash flow related. While as you can see above, we are gaining on some of the longer tail keywords, my main purpose is to rise for the term cash flow. There is a lot of very stiff competition from the billion dollar companies out there in addition to those sites that primarily offer financial information. Nonetheless, that's my goal in all this.

I hesitate to make decisions when the testing period is so short so far. It's been 6 days since I submitted the first one on the list (Cut Costs to help Cash Flow) to Synnd and there hasn't been much movement either way since the 3rd day. So, I'm wondering if I should run all my campaigns for 3 days and wait, then perhaps run them again in a week or two? Any thoughts?

Thank you Charles! I learned a few years ago that I can't guess what will work or not. So I A/B test everything I do and always try to better the control. With that mindset, I always tried to learn from the gains or losses of others...hence these updates.

    UPDATE Monday, April 20th
FYI: Other than producing 3-4 original and unique news stories per day and 2 blog posts per week, I haven't done anything. It's obvious I have the collateral to do a lot...and this gives me the motivation to spend some of my marketing dollars on getting that done. I'd appreciate any feedback. I know my business model is quite different than most of the members here, but the basics are still the same.
    =============
It's been a full week for the Cut Costs to Help Cash Flow blog post:
search term: full article name "Cut Costs to Help Cash Flow" (without quotes)
    Google #1: SM
Google #2: original blog post (this is a major move forward from #10)
    Google #3: Digg
    Google #20: FriendFeed entry

============ search term: "Kill Your Cash Flow" (no quotes)

Google: original blog moved from nowhere to #31. (Not bad for just several days. It's one thing to get my SM and Digg placements, but it's another thing for all the Synnd activity to push my original content up the SERPs. That's what I'm ultimately after.) Live #1: original blog post (first time)
    Live #2: Digg (first time)
Live #9: the blog's "cash flow" category page
    ============
Article: Ducking credit card and line of credit abuse
More general search term: line of credit abuse
    Google #1: SM (first time)
    Google #2: Digg (first time)

  • Guys

I dont know how you are all managing you synnd campains, but i have some views on it. i just run a campain on synnd for delicious and got to number four on it for just 9 bookmarks. the number 3 had 28, number 2 had 332 and number 1 has 533.

My thoughts are that can i get more benefit from spend more point to get a higher position or should i move on? well for me it depended on how many points i have in the bank and how many jobs i can earn more for. the result was i put a hold on this campaign.

I think with time we will be able to know how many point a campain will cost us to get the result we want. if you are like me and result driven then keeping an eye on the cost is very important.

I be interested to hear how you are all managing your campains. and by the way that's for your help.

    Respect
